About Lisa Kaye, Photographer

Living in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, I really enjoy capturing the rural quality of life in the Pacific Northwest. Yet my quest for the perfect photo has taken me far beyond this little corner of Lamb in Meadow the world on several cross-country trips as far as Nova Scotia and Alaska as well as numerous destinations in Asia.

Photographing animals in action is also one of my passions. Sheep herding trials, team calf roping, dog agility trials as well as the ever entertaining antics of our flock of award winning wool sheep make up another segment of my photographic portfolio.

Technical Stuff

I shoot with a 35mm Canon system including Canon lenses that cover a range from 16mm to 600mm. After shooting with film for thirty years I made the switch to Canon's digital line when the 10D debuted. I'm now on my third generation of digital Canon bodies.

Lamb in Meadow

Digital capture has a lot of advantages, but saving money is not one of them. For 30 years I shot with two film cameras costing $100-$300 dollars each. One of them still functions quite nicely. In just five years of shooting digital I've needed to upgrade my cameras three times to keep up with the technology. And the $300 that would buy an very decent film camera a decade ago now barely covers two batteries for the new digital Canon MarkII and MarkIII cameras.

If anyone tells me one more time about how everything I shoot doesn't cost me anything anymore since I no longer have to buy film I think I will send them a bill for my next camera ;-) That said, there is still no going back to film!
